2. Prohibited Technical Conduct
The following technical activities are strictly prohibited:
- Automated generation of shortened URLs in volumes or patterns designed to evade rate limits, abuse detection, or other security controls.
- Creation of infinite redirect loops, redirect chains designed to evade destination inspection, or multi-hop routing intended to obscure the final destination.
- Injection of malicious code, logic bombs, or exploit payloads through URL parameters, custom aliases, or any other input accepted by the Services.
- Attempting to access, probe, or test the vulnerability of the Services or any related system or network, or to breach any security or authentication measures.
- Attempting to reverse engineer, decompile, disassemble, or otherwise derive the source code of the Services.
- Using the Services for competitive benchmarking or to build a competing product or service.
3. Monitoring & Enforcement
3.1 Compliance Monitoring. Plung actively monitors the use of the Services for compliance with this AUP. We employ automated systems and manual review processes to screen URLs, detect malicious destinations, and identify patterns of abuse.
3.2 Enforcement Actions. If Plung determines, in its sole discretion, that a URL or account violates this AUP, we may take one or more of the following actions without prior notice: (a) disable or remove the offending shortened URL; (b) suspend or terminate the associated account and revoke all API keys; (c) block the originating IP address or IP range; (d) report the activity to applicable law enforcement authorities; and/or (e) pursue any other remedies available under the Terms of Service or applicable law.
3.3 No Obligation to Monitor. While Plung may monitor for compliance, we are under no obligation to do so and assume no responsibility for the content of shortened URLs or the destinations they resolve to.
4. Reporting & Incident Response
4.1 Reporting Abuse. If you believe a shortened URL created through Plung violates this AUP, you may report it through the link reporting feature available on the Services or by contacting us through the support page. We will investigate reported URLs and take appropriate action in accordance with this policy.
4.2 Appeals. For URLs created under a developer account, the registered account holder may contact us through the support page to appeal an enforcement action against a URL associated with their account. Appeals will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis. For URLs created anonymously without an account, no user identity is associated with the link and no appeal path is available.
4.3 Law Enforcement Cooperation. Plung cooperates with law enforcement agencies investigating criminal activity. We may disclose information relating to violations of this AUP to law enforcement authorities when required by law or when we believe in good faith that such disclosure is necessary to protect the safety of any person or to prevent imminent harm.
5. Scope of Applicability
This AUP applies to all users of the Services, including anonymous visitors, registered developers, and API consumers. The restrictions set forth herein apply to all content created, transmitted, or accessed through the Services, regardless of the method of access (website, API, or any other interface).
6. Changes to This Policy
Plung reserves the right to modify this AUP at any time. If we make material changes, we will update the “Last Updated” date at the top of this page. Your continued use of the Services after any changes constitutes your acceptance of the revised policy.
